Bulongwa Childrens Home 2003 :

Bulongwa Childrens Home 2003 :

What God the Father considers to be pure and genuine religion is this, to take care of orphans and widows in their suffering and to keep oneself from being corrupted by the world. James: 1:27.

The home has been admitting orphans since 1968.  We had 22 orphans, 17 female and 5 boys.  In 2003 we admitted 4 girls and one boy.  Two girls and one boy were taken by relatives after reaching the age of five years.

Six of the orphans attended Bulongwa Primary School.

There were 8 workers all together at the Childrens Homes who were catering for the children, they also were responsible to follow up the discharged children at their homes.  They also taught them at the kindergaten school.  Some were responsible for projects i.e. garden, cows, children, pigs, and grinding milling.

Achievements:  We have been able to accommodate children from the age of one day to four years and even at times to the age of 20 years.  The children receive basic needs of care, including vaccinations and treatment.

Future plans:-  To continue educating the community the importance of looking and caring for the orphans and disabled children.  To send children to primary school, secondary school and vocational training institutions.

Acknowledgements:  We thank our benefactors NMZ, Sweden, Finland and Germany for their monetary support given to us.  We also thank the SCD, the diaconic department, women’s department and Bulongwa Hosiana choir and Women’s group for the material and visits they generously gave us.  May the Good LORD bless them all.
